The product
Agree a price. Pay safely. Watch it get done.
Servika is a marketplace for home and business repairs in Nigeria. Customers book and pay, artisans quote and get paid, and Servika holds the money in between.
For customers
From a broken thing to a fixed one
Plumbing, electrical, AC, generators, fridges, cleaning, painting, carpentry, solar and more.

Find help near you
Browse by trade, see who is close on the map, or pick a fixed-price service. Every artisan shown has passed identity review.

Agree the price first
Send a request with photos. The artisan quotes in the app, or inspects first for free. Accept the quote or make a counter-offer. Booking itself is free.

Pay into escrow
Once a price is agreed you pay through Paystack by card, bank transfer, USSD or OPay. Servika holds the money. Work cannot start until it is secured.

Track, confirm, review
Watch the artisan arrive live, chat in the app, review the proof photos and confirm. Only then is the money released. Reviews come only from completed jobs.
For artisans
Servika Pro
A work tool for independent tradespeople: verification, jobs, quoting, proof of work and payouts, in one app.

Get verified
Trade and area, a bank account confirmed by the bank, a government ID and selfie, optional guarantors and certificates. A person at Servika reviews every application.

Jobs come to you
Direct bookings and open requests in your trade, within the radius you set. Accept a fixed price, send a quote, or inspect first.

Get paid, withdraw any time
Finished work is released to your balance when the customer confirms, or automatically after the confirmation window. Withdraw to your bank or wallet whenever you like.

Trust and safety
Built so strangers can do business
Human identity review
Government ID, selfie and a bank-confirmed account name are checked by a reviewer before an artisan can take a job. Guarantors can be called.
Escrow, not a promise
Money sits with Servika between payment and confirmation. Refunds for cancelled or disputed jobs are real refunds through Paystack.
Everything on record
Quotes, counter-offers, chat, proof photos and receipts live on the booking, so a dispute is decided on evidence.
Live tracking
The customer sees the artisan's position and a route-based ETA from the moment they set off.
The technology
Under the hood
What Servika is made of, for the technically curious and for partners who need to know.
Two mobile apps
Servika (customers) and Servika Pro (artisans), built with React Native and Expo for Android first, with over-the-air updates so fixes reach phones without a store release.
One API
An ASP.NET Core (.NET 9) backend with PostgreSQL and Redis, running on a single AWS VM today and moving to Google Cloud (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage) as the next infrastructure step. Clean architecture: the booking state machine, pricing and the money ledger are plain domain code, independent of the web and the database.
Money as a ledger
Every payment, release, refund, fee and payout is an append-only ledger entry. Balances are computed, never stored, so the books always add up.
Realtime
SignalR channels carry live location, chat and job updates, with push notifications for everything that happens while the app is closed.
Payments
Paystack handles card, bank-transfer, USSD and wallet payments, bank-account name resolution and payouts to artisans.
Maps and places
Google Maps Platform for the map, address search and road routes behind the arrival estimate.
Operations console
A web console where reviewers approve artisans, read disputes, watch payments and tune the marketplace's rules without a deployment.
Reliability
Crash reporting on both apps, structured logs on the API, signed and idempotent payment webhooks, and admin alerts for anything involving money.
Where we are
Status
- ✓Both apps are built and in closed testing on Google Play with real payments, payouts and verification running in Lagos.
- ✓Public launch starts in Lagos. Other Nigerian cities follow where artisans and demand show up first.
- ✓iOS versions follow the Android launch.
- ✓Infrastructure is consolidating on Google Cloud: Maps Platform and Firebase Cloud Messaging are already there, and the API, database and media storage follow.
