About
Making it normal to trust a stranger with your home.
Servika is a Lagos-built marketplace for home and business repairs. We verify the artisans, hold the money until the work is confirmed, and keep a record of everything in between.
The problem
Good artisans and worried customers cannot find each other
- ✓Finding a tradesperson means asking around for "a guy" and hoping. There is no record of who is good.
- ✓Prices are negotiated at the door, after the artisan has already come out, so both sides feel squeezed.
- ✓Paying up front means risk for the customer; paying after means risk for the artisan. Someone always carries it.
- ✓Good artisans have no way to show their work, their reviews or their certificates to people who do not already know them.
What we built
One rule that fixes the trust problem
You only pay when a price has been agreed, and the money is held until the job is done. Everything else in Servika exists to make that rule hold: identity review, in-app quotes and counter-offers, escrow through Paystack, live tracking, proof-of-work photos, reviews from completed jobs only, and a human dispute desk.

Business model
How Servika makes money
Free to join, free to book
Customers and artisans pay nothing to be on Servika. Posting a request and sending a quote cost nothing.
Money flows through Servika
When a price is agreed the customer pays through Paystack into escrow. Servika holds it and releases it to the artisan after the job is confirmed. That flow is what makes refunds, disputes and reviews possible.
A commission per completed job
Servika earns a percentage of each completed job, taken from the artisan's side when the money is released. Customers never see a Servika fee line. The rate is 0% for the launch period so supply can build; the change is announced in the apps at least 30 days ahead.
Later: fixed-price services and more
Fixed-price listings, business customers with repeat needs, and tools artisans pay for are the next lines of revenue. Nothing is sold about users' data.
The team
Founder-built, in Lagos
Sunday Mba
Founder
Sunday is a software engineer who built Servika after years of watching the same story repeat: a leaking pipe, a phone number from a neighbour, a price argued at the door, and no one to call when it went wrong. Servika is his answer: a marketplace where the rules protect both sides.
